Why is KADCA doing this?

This is the fourth Charity Tournament that KADCA has held, and to date we have raised over €16,000!! Read why...

Three Years ago the Kadca Committee decided it was time to give something back.  2009 Charity TournamentWe all take it for granted that we can run around on court and play a sport we love so we chose a charity which helps children and parents that don’t have that same luxury

A few of the Kadca crew went to visit Crumlin Childrens' hospital in 2009 to see where our money had been going.  While the dedication of the staff of the Charity and the Hospital itself is very inspiring, we came away with very mixed emotions.  Seeing young kids and teenagers living their lives in hospital, many of them for months at a time, was heart wrenching.

2009 Charity Tournament

We felt so annoyed that a charity which was originally set up just to provide toys and fun days for the kids now played a vital part in financing necessary upgrades to wards, parents' accommodation, sensory rooms to help improve the kids recovery and many more projects.  So much has been achieved through the generosity of the people in our country and despite the recession while donations are down people are still helping them to make a difference!

While the CMRF remains our primary charity of choice, we felt this year that we would like to also donate a small portion of the money raised to a less known charity, hence we have chosen CareLocal.  This charity is run by volunteers who visit the elderly around Dublin in order to try alleviate malnutrition, neglect, isolation & loneliness which has become an everyday reality for many of Ireland’s older generations.

So with added inspiration we are looking for your help to make our 4th year the best one yet!!
