2010 KADCA Charity Open Tournament

KADCA Committee Members Present a Cheque for over Five Thousand Euros KADCA Committee Members Present a Cheque for over Five Thousand Euros

To continue the success of KADCA's Annual Charity Tournament, in aid of Crumlin Childrens' Hospital, we are pleased to announce that the 3rd KADCA Open Charity Tournament will take place on Saturday 30th October.

The Children's Medical & Research FoundationIn the two years that Kadca has been running the tournament, with the help of a lot of people within the Badminton Community, we have raised a massive €10,500!  It is an amazing amount to raise and goes to prove Badminton is a great sport to be involved in!

A few of the Kadca crew went to visit the hospital last year to see where our money had been going.  While the dedication of the staff of the Charity and the Hospital itself is very inspiring, we came away with very mixed emotions.  Seeing both young kids and teenagers, living their lives in hospital, many of them for months at a time is quite heart wrenching.  Hearing how inadequate the facilities at the hospital are according to EU standards, seeing wards closed down because they can’t afford to staff them and how little help they get from the government was quite an eye opener.

So with added inspiration we are looking for your help to make our 3rd year the best one yet!!  This year's tournament's Principle Sponsor is Cúram Software, and we send our thanks to them for chosing to support this very worthy cause.

There will be 3 sections:Cúram Software

Section A    Division 1 - Division 3
Section B    Division 4 - Division 6
Section C    Division 7 - Division 10

Each section will have ladies and mens doubles in the morning followed by mixed in the afternoon.
